TNT Producer BiographyEdit

In his nearly fifty-year career, Eric Roth won an Academy Award and a Writers Guild of America Award for his screenplay for the Oscar-winning Best Picture Forrest Gump. He also received Academy Award and Golden Globe nominations for his screenplays for The Insider,Munich and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. His work includes Michael Mann’s Ali, Robert De Niro’s The Good Shepherd and Academy Award Best Picture-nominated Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close. He was awarded the Writers Guild’s Laurel Award for Lifetime Achievement in Screenwriting in 2012. Roth recently completed A Star Is Born for Warner Brothers, directed by and starring Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga, which just wrapped production this summer. His script for Imperative Entertainment, Killers of the Flower Moon, based on the novel of the same name by David Grann, will be directed by Martin Scorsese and will star Leonardo DiCaprio. Roth is currently writing the adaptation of the iconic science fiction novel Dune for director Denis Villeneuve and Legendary Pictures and the "Untitled David Geffen Project" for Tobey Maguire and Material Pictures.

In television, Roth is the executive producer with David Fincher on Netflix’s House of Cards, which is in its fifth season and has received five Emmy nominations for Best Dramatic Series. He is also an executive producer on Berlin Station for Epix, currently starting its second season. Roth is an executive producer on “The Alienist” from the classic novel by Caleb Carr on TNT, starring Daniel Brühl, Luke Evans and Dakota Fanning for Paramount Television. His daughter, Vanessa Roth, won an Academy Award in 2007 for the best short documentary, Freeheld. Roth lives in Los Angeles with his wife, Debra Greenfield, an attorney and professor with the UCLA Institute for Society and Genetics. He has seven children and six grandchildren. [1]
