Jakob Verbruggen is the Director and Executive Producer of ‘The Alienist’ for TNT, Paramount Television, and Anonymous Content. He replaced Cary Joji Fukunaga as a director due to scheduling conflicts, although Fukunaga remained an executive producer. [1]
TNT Producer Biography[]
Jakob Verbruggen previously directed Black Mirror and the season four finale of House of Cards. He also directed London Spy, starring Ben Wishaw and Jim Broadbent, for which he was nominated for a BAFTA Craft Award for Best Director. Among his other credits, Verbruggen directed the BBC crime drama The Fall for Artists Studio. The series, starring Gillian Anderson and Jamie Dornan, was nominated for a BAFTA for Best Miniseries and was described by The Guardian as “one of the best dramas on the BBC in years.” [2]
